I love facebook it allows me to interact with people and keep upwith whats going on in their lives and its fun.

I live in Coober Pedy and I am on broadband. I use the internet for EVERYTHING!! I use facebook to keep in touch with friends and found it great to find friends that I had left behind in other countries more than 15 years ago!! I love looking at photos that other people download on the net and generally just having quick chats on the pop up chat thingy. I use it for studying through the TAFE toolbox. This is not so easy as it requires a lot of flicking back and forth to different screens. I use it to order clothes and other stuff as we don’t have many shops here. I have the Foodland specials emailed to me and my shopping comes from Adelaide as the groceries are quite expensive here and this is very convenient for me! My son just bought a unicycle on ebay!! (well my husband actually did the transaction) Internet banking is another great option. I have an ING account which is an internet only account and pays good interest- better than banks so just transfer my money into it all the time! I set up term deposits etc on the internet too! Paying bills on websites or via bpay etc is so convenient so I pay almost all my bills this way!!! My kids use SKYPE all the time and think its great so am trying to get some more of my friends to join up. Great way to save money!!! My son does Lone scouts through Centra and is also enrolled in School of the Air. I love CENTRA - it is a great way to keep in touch with the rest of the class and the teacher. My hubby loves playing internet poker for relaxation in the evenings (not for money though!) I also get the Adelaide news posted to my emails everyday which is great to get the latest news all the time. I also check out Weatherzone for the latest weather!! I also use it to look up holiday accomodation and book airflights!! I think the internet is the best thing out!!! Rachel

I stay connected via the house phone and the Internet. Facebook & email, websurfing. Mobiles don’t work out here. We can use a satelite phone for emergencies only. I use the internet for everything - research, study, medical info, like an encyclopedia and also for recreation.

My nearest service centre (basic ie pub and roadhouse) is 110 kms away. The internet is our most important connection to the world and up to date info on weather and markets. The telephone is also important our only quick business connection for everyday business in such an isolated location

Satellite broadband internet is our way of communication - weather, info, banking, e-mail, reading papers - all other information.
